Service Homes & Shelter Support

Government service homes and shelter support for destitute women, children and senior citizens.

What the Scheme Does (Objective)

  • Runs government service homes for destitute women, children, and senior citizens.
  • Provides shelter, food, basic care, and protection.
  • Supports those with no family, no shelter, or no livelihood.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Destitute women, children, and senior citizens with no adequate support.
  • Priority to those with no shelter, no income, and no family.
  • As per departmental criteria and availability of seats.

Required Documents

  • Aadhaar card (if available)
  • Age proof (for children/senior citizens, if available)
  • Income certificate / destitute certificate (if available)
  • Any identity/address proof available (ration card, voter ID, etc.)
  • Passport‑size photographs (if available)
  • If the person has no documents, the office may still consider the case based on verification and local inquiry.

Guideline 1

Admission is subject to availability and verification by the department.

Guideline 2

This website does not handle admissions; all entries are via offices/service homes.

Guideline 3

For urgent shelter needs, contact the district social welfare office or Women Helpline 181 for guidance and referral.

Guideline 4

In emergencies, 112 can also be used to connect to appropriate support services.

Where to Apply

This scheme operates strictly via offline physically filed submissions. Applications can be acquired and filed at the following nodal centers:

District Social Welfare Office
Service Home Office / Superintendent (for direct admission inquiry)
Taluk / Corporation Office (for referral and verification)
Office Visit Advice: Always bring duplicates of your identity, address proofs, and recent photographs to avoid return trips.
